Pick up your own compass-whistle with duck and paddle logo at ORI's tent. Bring signs and display materials on what it means to strive for 350 ppm. Okay to be political and to call to do something (like hangout one's laundry)! Or write boldly 350 ppm CO2
1:30 pm Bike Ride to Columbus Park from Prospect Hill
Freedom Riders Unite for the International Day of Climate Action! Dress in water gear or blue for a bike ride along the Freedom Trail from Somerville to Boston. Meet at Prospect Hill Park in Union Square and ride to the Under Water Festival at Christopher Columbus Park by Boston's North End. Whistle while you ride and be prepared to make some noise for Climate Justice! (This ride route is not suitable for inexperienced bikers)
3:00 to 5:30 Boston Underwater Festival 350 Action
Participate in positive attention-getting and imagination-catching activities. The focus will be on the iconic image of sea level rise to draw attention to the threat of global climate change. Costumes, floats and theatrical events will draw attention to the urgent need for 350 ppm. (group photo at 3:50 p.m.)
There will be approximately 10 “activity stations” set up at the event, including:
- Group photo at 3:50pm for world leaders to see!
- Climate street theater
- How many can fit in the canoe lifeboats contest
- Lifeboat relay races for kids
- Blue body paint (paint your face up to your eyeballs, beware blue trolls)
- Take action climate calls & cards for some important people
- SOS sail raising
- 350 climate flag making for your bikes and other modes of transport
- Hold your breath under water contest
- An education station about climate change’s impact on ocean species
6:00 to 10:30 Playing For The Planet - A Benefit Concert of World Music
First Congregational Church of Cambridge
11 Garden Street, by the Cambridge Common
An evening of music and dance from multiple continents and countries, including India, Japan, West Africa, Eastern Europe and the Middle East. There will be a photo opportunity for all artists and audience members to crowd into a picture with a giant "350." All proceeds from the concert will be donated to 350.org.
Featured artists include: Members of Libana, Beth Bahia Cohen, Ayakano Cathleen Reade & Elizabeth Reian Bennet, Warren Senders and the Raga Ensemble, The Aparna Sindhoor Dance Theater, The Agbekor Drum and Dance Society

Somerville Bell Ringing for 350 ppm Carbon Cleaner Skies
On the front steps of College Avenue United Methodist Church
Davis Square area, Somerville
Children with hand bells will play a carillon for cleaner skies and less climate change.
5pm on Sunday, Oct 25
Cambridge Welcoming Ministries (which meets at College Avenue United Methodist Church) will hold a climate-themed worship celebrating the events of the weekend from around the world, including the congregation's own leadership in the Arlington, Somerville, and Boston events. Fellowship meal begins at 6:30 pm with a vegan pot luck. All are welcome to attend worship, the meal, or both!
