Seabirds and Whale Tails

The New England Coastal Wildlife Alliance (NECWA) and Bridgewater State College (BSC) are hosting

the fall edition of Seabird & Whale Tales.

Sunday, September 7th from 8 am until 6 pm.

Join us for a full day of marine wildlife viewing aboard the “Tails of the Sea”, a 110’ luxury commercial whale watching vessel owned and operated by the Captain John Boats of Plymouth, MA. Leave from Plymouth Harbor.

Join wildlife experts Wayne Petersen of Massachusetts Audubon Society, David Clapp of Natural History Services and
Dr. John C. Jahoda of Bridgewater State College as they lead this informative excursion to view seabirds, seals, whales, dolphin, basking sharks and other marine wildlife found off our New England shores.

Meet at the Town Pier in Plymouth at 7:30 A.M. to check in. Cruise leaves at 8 A.M. and returns by 6 P.M. that evening. Bring your own food and drink but please no alcohol or any items in glass containers. You can purchase a variety of hot and cold foods from the galley and all proceeds support our non-profit marine education organizations.

  • Breakfast items include: bagels, muffins, donuts, tea and coffee.
Please bring your travel mug to help reduce the paper and plastic waste produced during the trip.
  • Lunch items include: homemade clam chowder, chili, a variety of veggie and meat sandwiches and luscious desserts! Buy a bag lunch ahead of time to ensure you receive your sandwich of choice ($10 includes sandwich, chips, fruit, beverage and dessert). Our resident chef, Jim Haire with the help of his wife Kerri, provides homemade clam chowder and sandwiches. NECWA’s staff, Pat Mancini provides wonderful home-made chili, a favorite of all our repeat passengers.
