Plastic isn’t good for our planet, we have to end all plastic and create a new product without the negatives of plastic. A happy life requires a healthy planet and we can’t have that with plastic, it has to go, as does oil, hunting, killing…. April Warwick, Anchorage AK

Plastic pollution is KILLING organic existence! Calm my fears for OUR children!
John S. Sonin, Douglas AK

Alabama

Plastics do not biodegrade easily, and plastic waste is dangerous to wildlife and our environment. Plastic manufacturing uses fossil fuels and significantly contributes to greenhouse gas emissions, which drive climate change. Please protect our planet by supporting the Break Free from Plastic Pollution Act. Reducing greenhouse gas emissions and use of fossil fuels protects our planet from the evident and increasingly dire effects of climate change. Additionally, it is in everyone’s interest to protect the rich diversity of life on our planet, which is threatened by plastic waste. Lorna Wood, Auburn AL

We would very much appreciate our Earth not be murdered by plastic. Plastic is just another symptom of a dying capitalist system and dying planet. Indeed, man is the only animal too stupid not to heed the forewarning signs of nature. I recycle four bags of plastic every two weeks. Support this bill. This bill will let our children live longer and happier.
Robert Hyer II, Lillian AL

Plastic pollution is an entirely preventable problem. Let’s do something about it before it’s too late.
Jonathan Mitchell, Madison AL

Plastic pollution is destroying our waters and its inhabitants. Plastic is not recyclable. The Break Free From Plastic Pollution bill would leave a better world for my offspring.
Jean Bray, Montgomery AL

Plastic pollution is hurting our environment, animals and ourselves!  Melissa Minor, Russellville AL

No one wants to swim in an ocean of plastic. The Break Free From Plastic Pollution bill would mean less pollution in the environment. Katie Parker, Pottsville AR

We are responsible for irreplaceable biodiversity and clean, healthy ecosystems upon Earth. Everything is connected–humans can’t survive without a healthy environment and ecosystems. David Parker, Sherwood AR

The prevention of plastic pollution will make the places we care about cleaner, safer, and more attractive. Support this bill. I want to save the most important thing—my family & wildlife—from toxic pollution & death. Cara Schmidt, Yellville AR

I think that a plastic ban is not a viable solution. It’s important that we all do something to reduce plastic waste and help protect our environment. By promoting sustainable practices and supporting companies like Raw tech trade we can make a positive impact on our planet and pave the way towards a more sustainable future.

      Wilmar,
Thank you for providing resources for reusing plastics, a used plastics marketplace. We need to reuse and reconstitute plastic items. Because they do not degrade much over time, it is good for the plant to keep plastics out of the waste stream. Talk of a ban only applies to single-use plastics. They are so light that they are easily blown by the wind into waterways and choke wildlife. A multi use plastic will use more plastic but may be reused, recycled or reconstituted.
