We are ingesting a credit card’s worth of plastic each week, they tell me. That’s not cool. We could eat more without concern, fish, water and other things that now contain plastic particles. Rick Auman, Las Vegas NV
Waste is Waste. William Schaffer, Las Vegas NV
“It is World Environment Day and we are trying to beat plastic pollution, which we can do if we work together. The idea is: you need to remove one plastic item from your life, such as plastic bottles, which I did a while ago. You can also do something like plastic straws or plastic cups. So, finish one of those and you have successfully completed this challenge… Plastic, we’re coming for ya’!” J.D. Scott, Las Vegas NV
Plastic pollution is killing ocean wildlife and the landmass of the planet. We can do better than this. Please help! Janet Walls, Minden NV
There is irreparable harm being done daily to wildlife in the most remote parts of the world daily, to us humans on every part of the globe daily. Let’s reduce our dependence on this internal toxin, and externally help liberate all species from our flagrant pollution. From micro plastics to drift nets, it’s insidious. Chris Worcester, Reno NV
We have seen the more visible effects of plastic pollution in the form of sea live ensnared by plastic loops, nets, and other refuse. This is reason enough to address plastic pollution in our oceans, but perhaps worse is the unseen effects, the microplastic ingested by sea life, include sea life we consume. Halting plastic pollution in our oceans would benefit wildlife and humans alike. Please support this bill. David Worley, Reno NV
To protect the wildlife and our oceans. It would be such a relief to know we are stopping the suffering of innocent animals and saving our planet. John & Shirley Valney, Reno NV
Because the ocean is polluted with plastic and the fish and the birds are mistaking it for food and then they die. If the fish die we will have less food to eat. The fact that the world would be cleaner and the garbage dumps less and the oceans less polluted and the need for oil would be diminished. Thelma Matlin, Reno NV
One researcher described how the ocean’s plastics are breaking down to nano-sized toxic particulates; empathizing that these toxic particles can pass through the blood-brain barrier. I’m of an age when society predominantly used wood/paper and glass. I, that is we, were a much healthier people. Steve Gaylord, Silver Springs NV
The path we are on now will continue to degrade the environment for ALL living creatures. Support this bill because plastics are killing marine life and harming humans. Change to containers that are really recyclable, like glass and metal. Use less fossil fuels. David Cencula, Sparks NV
We need to save the poor creatures who live in the ocean. We need to keep it cleaner now and for future generations. Kirsten Wolner, Henderson NV
