Description

Grayhound built by Boatbuilder Chris Rees at Voyage Boatyard in Cornwall, and launched in 2012. Grayhound is a 5/6 scale replica of a three-masted UK Customs lugger called Grayhound built-in Cawsand Cornwall in 1776. Fishermen favored luggers, a vessel rigged with “lugsails.” Lugsails are loose-footed, there is no wooden spar or boom at the bottom of the sail.
These images are from a Grayhound voyage in 2019 from Plymouth, United Kingdom, to Douarnenez, France. The cargo was delivered to the Scilly Isles.
