The mission of 1% For The Planet is to build, support and activate an alliance of businesses financially committed to creating a healthy planet. 1% was founded in 2002 by Yvon Chouinard, founder of Patagonia, and Craig Mathews, owner of Blue Ribbon Flies. 

The Ocean River Institute is a nonprofit partner with 1% for the Planet. Patagonia has also directly funded the Ocean River Institute. Patagonia’s Boston Store supports us by including ORI at events in the store.
