Songwriters Summit for Resilience and Resistance

Spanish Culture and Language Camp
Description: Conversational Spanish activities for adults and children at beginning and intermediate levels will be offered. In general, approximately half of the participants are first language Spanish and half are English-speaking. Families and individuals whose first language is Spanish can participate through Work Exchange, serving as language and cultural “maestros” for the rest of us, i.e. cooking ethnic foods, teaching ethnic dancing, arts, and music, or instructing Spanish.

Description: “The topic is the “Scientists’ Second Warning to Humanity” and Dr. William Ripple, a distinguished professor in the College of Forestry at Oregon State University will share how society might face the environmental crisis through science. Ripple will present his work on how the far-reaching impacts of wolves are affecting the ecosystem in Yellowstone National Park. He will illustrate how he transitioned from Yellowstone to other national parks in western North America and beyond to demonstrate both the benefits of wild large predators and the costs of their demise.”
