The Ocean River Institute is returning to San Francisco for this year’s Green Festival San Francisco. This year’s festival is taking place at Cow Palace in Daly City, right on the city border with SF. Come see Rob, Harper, and Ryan at Booth 1327 in the main arena. We’ll be educating and engaging folks to do three things:
- Eat more local fish and seafood. It’s healthier and has a lower carbon footprint than meat. When buying seafood, get the cheaper fish because it’s the most abundant.
- Tell your legislator to put more funding for the Fishery Councils in the renewed Magnuson-Stevens Fishery Management Act. With more funding we can achieve sustainable fishing for all 232 commercially valuable fish stocks. We have just 28 to go.
- Tell President Obama to create a national marine monument in the Atlantic Ocean that protects Cashes Ledge, 5 canyons, and 4 seamounts from oil, gas, and mineral mining. The President must ensure a collaborative planning process that includes tribal groups and the New England Fisheries Management Council.
Come to the Festival and find us at booth 1327 in the main arena. We look forward to meeting you. If you’re not in the area, please share this event with your friends.
