Save Our Seas and Great Lakes by Fully Funding Nation’s Ocean Programs

Washington D.C. here we come! Rob was joined by ORI intern Max Wagner to discuss their upcoming trip climbing Capitol Hill for the Blue Vision Summit.
Rob, Max and 14 others from Massachusetts and Rhode Island will be meeting with legislative directors of elected representatives to talk about saving the ocean – the same thing we do every day.  We’ll deliver printed documents featuring thousands of personal comments from individuals representing all fifty states, Puerto Rico, USVI and DC. Keeping NOAA’s ocean programs fully funded is our top priority and we will meet senior members on the Committee of Appropriations (who are also ocean champions, themselves).
Rob and Max also discuss the campaign to save the Arthur R. Marshall Loxahatchee National Wildlife Refuge in Southern Florida. Rob was fortunate to take a field trip down to Florida to see the refuge firsthand. He escaped the snapping alligator jaws and returned with all limbs attached!  He talks about his experience with the wildlife and about the Old World Climbing Fern that has overwhelmed the refuge.
Tune into Moir’s Environmental Dialogues to hear about these important campaigns to protect our natural habitats.
