God save Jerry’s Pond!
Inspired by the Kinks popular song the Village Green Preservation Society (1968), we’ve written lyrics for Jerry’s Pond in Cambridge MA USA
We
Urban parks are vital.
Save the pond already!
Every one of us humans needs to connect with the natural world on a regular basis…it helps ‘us’ remember from whence we came.
”It’s natures way of telling you, somethings wrong”
Spirit Band 1970
encourage b ird watchers to come and send pics of birds especially colorful or rare warblers, water birds etc, also amphibians and reptiles, flowers etc put little signs describing tree species, create email list and write 1 a week, as a child i enjoyed Bulloughs pond in newtonville and watched many wildlife species.. the i watched a septic or fuel tank dump/or clean a hose right into the pond ( thru a fence even!) but no one believed me as i was 12 yrs old, the pond died as a result and years later efforts were made to save the pond
value thisprecious life in these precious places
Please save Jerry’s Pond. Why on earth would you get rid of it? It is a place for people and wildlife to enjoy the great outdoors and one another!
Jerry’s Pond and all other urban parks need to be preserved and expanded(if possible) to help improve greenhouse emissions as well as being places of solace for those who live and work in and around these vital resources.
Sing it!
