Plastic pollution enters into all our lives. It is harmful to all living creatures and is prevalent everywhere. Please support this bill for a cleaner environment and plastic not entering into the food chain. Merrie Thornburg, Attica IN

It is just heartbreaking how companies are destroying our environment. It needs to stop immediately.  Plastics companies need to be responsible for recycling their products or eliminating them altogether.  Nicola Crawford, Attica IN

Support this bill because plastic pollution is indeed pollution–of an especially pervasive sort.  Paul Eisenberg, Bloomington IN

Plastic never goes away, and it’s destroying the lives of the animals in the ocean in horrifying ways. The production of plastic includes the use of fossil fuels, which speeds up the overall problem of climate change. Support this bill. It’s vital for the health of all humans that this is slowed down as quickly as possible. Karisha Kirk, Bloomington IN

Look no further than our oceans to see the havoc wrought on the quality of the water.  And, then all the harm done to those animals that live in the oceans.  It is a tragedy that plastic has become a major polluter on land and in water.  Pass H.R.5845 now. Water in rivers and streams would be less polluted, making water cleaner for drinking and human use.  I would not have to save all the many single-use bags used in retail sales.  And, there would be a lot less litter on roadways, making the environment nicer for all who enjoy travel and being in nature. Zelma Taylor, Indianapolis IN

The Break Free From Plastic Pollution bill would significantly reduce the production of these products in the United States. Less plastic production will use less fossil fuels, like coal and natural gas. Less manufacturing of these single-use and disposable products will decrease greenhouse gas emissions. The bill would reduce wildlife from ingesting and being entangled in plastics and waste products.  Kathleen OConnell, Indianapolis IN

WHEN ARE WE EVER GOING TO STOP DESTROYING OUR PLANET EARTH.  OUR OCEANS ARE DYING.   EVERY LIVING CREATURE IN THE OCEANS ARE DYING BECAUSE OF OUR NEVER ENDING POLUTION. SUPPORT THIS BILL. IT WOULD GIVE ME SOME PEACE OF MIND THAT WE ARE DOING EVERYTHING WE CAN TO STOP PLASTIC POLUTION. diane winkler, jasper IN

Plastics do not decompose. Plastics create pollution and are a hazard to the life of animals, who may eat them or become entangled in them. Support this bill. It would decrease the amount of material going in our landfills and animals would not be killed by them. Marian Cooley, Muncie IN

The general use of plastics is a major source of pollution in this country and around the world. Support and pass this bill. I would live–like everybody else–in a less polluted world. Paul Eisenberg, Bloomington IN

We are at a critical point in history. If we continue as we are, COVID 19 will be the least of our problems. We must take care of this planet or we will have not have an inhabitable planet. Please consider our future and take steps in controlling plastic waste by supporting this bill. I quit using straws and carry my own shopping bags. I also try to reuse the plastic I have. Marta Francis, South Bend IN
