Plastics kill marine animals and destroy marine habitats. Lorraine Akiba, Honolulu HI

Life on this planet will not survive at the rate we are polluting our ocean, especially with plastics. Nina Monasevitch, Lihue HI
I live on Hawaii Island. Volunteers clean up tons of plastic waste that accumulates on our beaches every month. Our sea turtles and monk seals, both endangered species, are especially at risk from this debris. Our oceans being polluted with plastic rubbish is not acceptable! If humans stopped polluting our oceans with plastic waste, my beaches would be clean and beautiful; marine animals could live without the risk of dying from eating or being trapped in plastic garbage; my spirit would be free of the sadness that fills my heart due to marine debris. Linda Morgan, Ocean View HI
Our survival depend on stopping plastic pollution as does all the creatures of the sea, land, and air. I would like it declared an international crisis. We should send the militaries of all countries to clean up the texas-size garbage patches in the sea, and clean up small and large islands and waterways. Susan Caswell, PhD, Paauilo HI
IT’S KILLING BIRDS AND OTHER CREATURES AND CLOGGING UP OUR BEACHES– AND OF COURSE IT IS POLLUTING OUR BODIES. DR SUSAN CASWELL, PAAUILO HI
In Hawaii many whales, dolphins and monk seals die from ingesting plastics. Not good for them or us! Mary N, Princeville HI

Plastic pollution harms marine life and animals on shores. I hate to see sea life or any other wildlife die. This crazy polluting of our lands and waters has got to stop. Water Stanley Drewelow, Evansdale IA
Pollution anywhere is pollution everywhere. The effects of plastics may take a long time to manifest, but could be permanent. I live on planet Earth. Nobody escapes. Support and pass this bill for us all. Kay Michener, Fairfield IA

Marine animals are choking on and ingesting this plastic junk which is every where. By not seeing it everywhere along the road, in cities along trails, in National parks, state parks, city parks and our neighborhoods, you are not acting. Support this bill and get it passed into law. Robert Carroll, Cocolalla ID
Sometimes I wake at 2 A.M. worrying that my great-granddaughter will have to march through her distant, broiling future gathering all the plastic I ever disposed of. Anthony Doerr, Boise ID
The Break Free From Plastic Pollution bill would significantly reduce the production of disposable, wasteful products in the United States. Less manufacturing of these single-use and disposable products will decrease greenhouse gas emissions. Fixing this mess will create jobs. Long lasting stuff, not single-use plastics. Marina Cappas, Eagle ID
There is too much trash/plastic now. Support and pass this bill to make the world a better place. Marci Robinson, Pocatello ID
Plastic is not bio-degradable therefore it is harmful to our environment. It clogs up our rivers, fill our landfills, blows in the wind which can land under your car and get trapped in your axle, harmful to the biology of humans and animals. Support and make this bill law. We will have an Earth so that our kids may live in the future. Carmen Chacon, Pocatello ID
This is important to me because we have very few, if any, places left in America that are not affected by plastic pollution. We need to save our wildlife and earth from pollution especially from single-use plastics. Support and pass this bill. Everyone would benefit from less plastic pollution by having a cleaner world. Celeste Arnold, Boise ID
